Parkun 121 - election day

Welcome to parkrun 121!

Today is election day. Today you choose between progress and stagnation. Today you choose between weak and strong. Today you choose between health and sickness. Today you vote with your feet. I’d like to congratulate you all for choosing progress, strength and health by being here with us this morning.

Today we celebrate 100 parkruns for one of our regular voters. Dean has done 98 parkruns at Mount Barker, one at Toowoomba and one at Murray Bridge. In fact he has done twice as many because he always does a second lap of the course. Dean’s PB is 22:07 which is impressive for someone over 60. He trains with Adelaide Harriers and enjoys South Australian Masters Athletics. He is very dedicated and is famous for his harcode interval and hills sessions. He even runs when on business trips. Now that’s what I call good voting. Congratualtions on your 100 parkruns, Dean!

We also have a special mention for the Hilton family. Rebekah’s soccer’s team won all their games at the state soccer festival and their division. I am sure her parkrun experience has helped with this.

Bradley Hilton has been selected for the SA X-Country team to race in Canberra in August. Thanks to all those hard training sessions with Coach David Fryer and training partners Liam, Nicki, Keryn, Dee-Anne, sister Rebekah and others.
